Eating hot meals frequently may increase the incidence of esophageal cancer. Esophageal cancer, however, is not necessarily caused by eating hot meals.
There are many causes of esophageal cancer, and frequent eating of overheated food may be one of the causative factors. The mucous membrane of the esophagus is easily damaged by frequent consumption of overheated food, and the resistance of the mucous membrane decreases during the period of damage, which can easily lead to secondary inflammation. If the inflammation is not cured for a long time, the esophageal mucosal cells are stimulated by inflammation for a long time and may develop abnormal proliferation and cause esophageal cancer.
Esophageal mucosal damage caused by an overheated diet may also be a basis for the development of esophageal cancer. The patient who usually has bad habits such as smoking and drinking, and often eats barbecued, fried, and pickled foods or foods with more additives, may be a cancer-causing factor. The esophageal mucosa, when damaged, is stimulated by multiple carcinogenic factors at the same time, which may be the main cause of esophageal cancer.
Esophageal cancer also has a strong relationship with the patient’s living environment, personal constitution, and genetic factors. Therefore, it can only be said that an overheated diet may be among the triggers of esophageal cancer.
