Pink sputum is seen in what diseases

The clinical appearance of coughing up pink sputum is caused by many diseases, the most common being respiratory diseases. Typically, pneumonia is caused by Klebsiella infection, which is relatively virulent and tends to cause congestion, edema and exudation of large amounts of inflammatory secretions from the airways, including the bronchi and alveolar mucosa, with the presence of pink jelly-like secretions. In addition, it is also seen in cardiovascular system diseases, such as left heart failure due to various reasons, when there is a large amount of fluid leakage from the lung tissue, resulting in pulmonary edema and coughing up large amounts of pink foamy sputum. X-rays of both lungs can be taken to check the lung function and heart function for a clear diagnosis and timely treatment.
