Wisdom tooth gum swelling and pain will heal in a few days

Wisdom tooth gum swelling and pain will heal in a few days depending on the severity of the patient’s condition, and there is some individual variation. If the gums become swollen and painful during the eruption of the wisdom tooth, it may be a case of pericoronitis. Generally, if the inflammation is mild, oral anti-inflammatory drugs can be taken and the inflammation will subside in 3-5 days and the swollen and painful gums will be relieved. However, if the patient does not take oral anti-inflammatory drugs, or if the local inflammation is heavy, it is likely to lead to acute infection, causing swelling of the face, pain and restricted mouth opening, which is more difficult to recover on its own. It is recommended to go to the hospital dentistry department as soon as possible, so that the doctor can make the pain caused by the wisdom tooth disappear by local rinsing and medication in the gum pocket, and with the application of anti-inflammatory drugs, and after the inflammation subsides, the wisdom tooth will be extracted at a later date. It is recommended that patients pay attention to oral hygiene during the wisdom tooth period, avoid eating spicy and stimulating foods, eat as light as possible, and rinse their mouths in time after eating.
