How to distinguish between atrial and ventricular premature beats

The differentiation between atrial and ventricular premature beats is mainly based on the electrocardiogram (ECG). Electrocardiogram (ECG) is the main diagnostic test for arrhythmia, and it can distinguish between atrial and ventricular premature beats in most cases, and patients with related symptoms should undergo ECG as soon as possible to make a clear diagnosis. Atrial premature beats are characterized by the early appearance of P waves, a certain degree of shortening of the PR interval, and narrow qrs wave clusters with incomplete compensatory intervals. Ventricular premature beats also appear prematurely and show a broad aberration of the qrs wave with a duration of more than 120 ms, accompanied by secondary T-wave changes and complete compensatory intervals. Atrial premature and ventricular premature will lead to the disturbance of cardiac rhythm, and in severe cases, the symptoms of palpitation may appear, and may even induce severe myocardial ischemia. Patients with atrial and ventricular tachycardia should go to the hospital as soon as possible to assess the severity of the condition and be treated under the guidance of a physician.
