When hemoptysis occurs in bronchiectasis, it may lead to life-threatening conditions. When hemoptysis occurs in bronchiectasis, it is a critical disease. For a small amount of hemoptysis, the prognosis is relatively good through effective hemostasis and anti-infection treatment. However, for patients with large hemoptysis, i.e. hemoptysis of 500 ml in 24 hours or hemoptysis of 300 ml or more in one case, the patient cannot cough up the blood in time due to the large amount of hemoptysis, which may lead to the formation of blood clots and block the patient’s airway and cause asphyxia, and the patient may develop acute respiratory failure, and clinical death may occur if the treatment is not timely. In addition, for patients with repeated massive hemoptysis, when the effect of hemostasis is not good, it can also cause hypovolemic shock, and the patient’s life is also in danger. Therefore, when hemoptysis occurs in bronchial expansion, timely treatment of hemostasis should be given, and the patient should be instructed to cough out the blood clot in time to avoid misaspiration, and if necessary, hemostatic treatment by tracheal intubation and bronchial artery embolization should be given.
