High resistance breathing usually refers to a situation in which expiration and inspiration are significantly impeded, which manifests itself as labored breathing or even respiratory distress. High resistance breathing can be caused by physiologic or pathologic factors, such as when the patient is exercising and does not regulate the frequency of breathing well, resulting in a situation of respiratory effort. It may also be caused by inflammatory lesions in the airway, airway foreign bodies and other diseases. Inflammatory lesions in the airway will cause congestion and edema in the airway, leading to the symptoms of respiratory effort and sometimes respiratory distress, so if it is caused by pathological factors, it needs to be actively treated. If physiological factors are excluded, it is recommended that patients with high resistance to breathing go to the hospital in a timely manner to clarify the cause of the disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
