Newborn baby sleep more than 4 hours to be okay

It does not matter if your newborn sleeps for more than 4 hours. The degree of sleep varies slightly depending on the body type of the newborn. If your baby eats and sleeps normally and does not cry or fuss, there is no need to panic. Newborns have different body types and some babies can go without milk for more than 4-5 hours, especially breastfed babies. If the baby responds well after waking up, is in good spirits, has a normal amount of milk, and has no fever, there is usually no problem. However, if the child has a reduced milk supply, poor or no weight gain, etc., and often does not eat milk for 4-5 hours, it is necessary to pay attention to the fact that it may be caused by improper care, such as high ambient temperature, and the symptoms can generally be relieved after strengthening care. If the symptoms are not relieved, then neonatal hypoglycemia, neonatal infection and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy are considered, and immediate consultation with the neonatology or pediatrics department is recommended. In addition, newborns have a weak thermoregulatory ability, so parents need to pay attention to the appropriate room temperature and avoid wrapping more clothes when caring for them. If the baby has abnormal symptoms, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time to avoid adverse consequences.
