Precautions for patients with intrahepatic bile duct stones after surgery

  I. Bile drainage tube (T-tube) precautions.
  1. Be careful to avoid T-tube prolapse!
If the T-tube prolapses outward, seek emergency medical attention promptly
2, the first 7 days after surgery: the T-tube should be open 24 hours a day to avoid folding, and the drainage bag should be hung below the waist
10-14 days after surgery: gradually elevate the hanging position of the drainage bag to the shoulder
Daily recording of drainage flow and color
If daily bile drainage decreases significantly after T-tube elevation and there is no significant discomfort, please contact your doctor through the clinic, website or by phone and try to clamp the bile drainage tube during the day with your doctor’s consent, and open the T-tube promptly if there is discomfort, and keep it clamped if there is no discomfort. The T-tube is opened for 5 minutes daily and clamped closed after stale bile flows out.
We need to review once in 10-14 days after the operation as an outpatient
  3. Wait for a phone call from the doctor about 4 weeks after the operation to make an appointment for T-tube imaging
T-tube should be opened for 24 hours after T-tube angiography
If there is fever, abdominal pain or chills above 38° after T-tube angiography, you should seek emergency medical attention promptly
If there is no discomfort after T-tube angiography, try to clip the T-tube for 24 hours after angiography and open it for 5 minutes daily.
  4. If there is no abnormality in the T-tube angiography, wait for the doctor’s telephone appointment to remove the T-tube after the T-tube angiography
If fever, abdominal pain or chills above 38° occur after T-tube removal, seek emergency medical attention promptly
  5. If the T-tube angiogram indicates residual bile duct stones, you should wait for the doctor’s telephone appointment for choledochoscopic stone extraction via the T-tube sinus tract after six weeks after the surgery.
  II. Post-operative diet.
Avoid greasy, cold, hard and irritating food for 1 month after surgery
It is recommended to eat oranges and orange juice appropriately during the period of T-tube drainage opening to achieve the purpose of potassium supplementation.
Gradually return to normal diet about 3 months after surgery
  III. Wound.
1.Wound stitch removal time: 9-10 days after surgery outpatient review stitch removal.
2, if the wound has oozing or pain is obvious. Suggest poor wound healing or infection, it is recommended that timely outpatient review.
3, three months after surgery, it is recommended to tie the lap band to protect the abdominal incision, minimize the cold within three months after surgery, and avoid wound dehiscence caused by violent coughing. Routine outpatient review is required 2 weeks, 1 month and 3 months after surgery.
  4. Avoid strenuous exercise within three months after surgery.
