What’s with the Tourette’s leg twitching?

Tourette’s leg tics are sudden, stereotyped, repetitive motor tics caused by contraction of the leg muscles.
Tourette’s syndrome, or Tourette’s disorder, is a chronic, complex mental disorder that begins in childhood and adolescence and is characterized by involuntary, non-rhythmic sudden, rapid, stereotyped, repetitive muscle movements and/or vocal tics. Leg tics are one of the manifestations of motor tics in Tourette’s syndrome.
Tourette’s motor tics are common in the head, neck, face, arms, and lower extremities, and may be mild or severe, and tend to worsen when there is emotional stress, overexertion, or overexcitement. Tourette’s syndrome vocal tics are often characterized by 1 or more vocal tics, such as sniffling and throat clearing.
Tourette’s syndrome is a chronic disease, and patients should be provided with education, psychological counseling and treatment in a timely manner.
