What is normal vision for a three and a half year old child

Children’s visual acuity can increase with age, with children aged 3.5 years old normally having a visual acuity of 0.6 or above.
A child’s vision at birth can only reach the level of light perception and distinguish the general outline of objects, with the growth and development of vision will gradually improve, generally in about 5~6 years old to reach the normal 1.0, when the child develops to about 3 years old, vision should be able to reach 0.6 or more, development to about 4 years old, vision should be able to reach 0.8 or more.
Therefore, if your child is currently 3.5 years old and can see at least 0.6, this is within the normal range. If your child’s vision fails to reach the normal value, you should go to the ophthalmology department of the hospital for a timely examination, so that the doctor can find out the cause of vision loss, such as refractive error, amblyopia, and so on.
It is recommended that patients with abnormal vision should seek prompt medical attention for evaluation of their condition and treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
