The treatment of ophthalmoplegia depends on the primary cause. If the dizziness is due to acute septic vaginitis, surgery and anti-infective treatment should be administered. Caused by cerebellar tumours and auditory neuromas, surgical removal is required. Dizziness due to Meniere’s disease should be treated by regulating autonomic function and a low salt diet in general. For dizziness due to cervical spine osteophytes, bulging or herniated discs, conservative treatment of the cervical spine, such as traction and physiotherapy, can be done first, with adequate rest, and then surgery can be considered if necessary. Transient dizziness, such as dizziness caused by sudden standing up after sitting for a long time, can be treated with proper rest.
