How to take care of children’s teeth

  ① From birth to 6 months, wipe the baby’s dental bed with soft gauze dipped in warm boiled water once a day, and feed some warm boiled water to rinse the mouth after feeding.  From 6 months to 1 year old, when the first milk teeth erupt, parents should put on a brushing finger or use sterilized gauze or cotton swabs to clean the tooth surface and the dental bed for him every day.  From 1-2 years old, parents need to help their baby brush his teeth every day in the morning and evening during this period. Choose a suitable children’s toothbrush and skip the toothpaste for a while until your baby learns to spit it out.  From 2-6 years old, all the baby teeth have erupted. Children imitate their parents and gradually learn to brush their own teeth; parents should help their children brush their teeth really well at least once a day, in addition to checking and guiding their children to brush their teeth.  ② Do not consume too much sweets, snacks, snacks should not exceed 10%-15% of the daily energy requirement as appropriate to prevent the production of excessive acid corrosion of teeth.  ③ Children aged 1-3 years old can visit the pediatric dentistry department of the dental specialist hospital and ask the doctor to coat the tooth surface with fluoride in order to prevent and inhibit tooth decay. It is most suitable to do sulcus closure when the milk molar is 3-4 years old, the first permanent molar (sixth age teeth) is 6-7 years old, and the premolar and the second permanent molar is 11-13 years old. Vulval closure is one of the most effective methods to prevent tooth decay. It means that the doctor uses the sulcus sealant to seal and fill the sulcus gap on the jaw surface of molar teeth.  ④ Regular examination: early detection and early treatment. When children receive treatment and prevention for a period of time, parents should review every 3 months – 6 months according to the doctor’s suggestion in order to get timely prevention and treatment.
