Head and neck CTA imaging can detect stenosis, which cannot be detected by plain brain CT.
If a brain CT is to be performed on blood vessels, it is mainly done through head and neck CTA imaging. Head and neck CTA examination mainly involves injecting contrast agent into the body during the examination, so that there will be obvious contrast between the blood vessels and the surrounding tissues during the imaging process, which can be observed to see the shape of the blood vessels and their existence of stenosis, aneurysm, arterial and venous malformations, and so on.
Ordinary brain CT examination mainly looks at the brain tissue and skull condition, it cannot observe the blood vessel stenosis, and is used to diagnose whether there is cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, cranial trauma, intracranial tumors and other conditions.
If you need cerebrovascular examination, consult a professional physician and follow the physician’s arrangement.
