Patients can decide whether they can drink chamomile tea based on their doctor’s advice after consulting a medical professional.
A case-control study found that drinking chamomile tea two to six times a week reduced the risk of thyroid cancer by 70%, and if the habit of drinking chamomile tea was maintained for 30 years, the risk of developing the disease was reduced by 80%. The reason for this is probably because chamomile tea contains flavonoid antioxidant active ingredients. However, chamomile also contains other components such as volatile oils, and based on current studies, it is not clear whether drinking chamomile tea has a negative effect on the condition of thyroid cancer patients. Therefore, we do not recommend chamomile tea for thyroid cancer patients, but if you really want to drink it, you can ask your doctor for advice.
