Is it okay to take metronidazole for intestinal polyp removal?

Metronidazole can be taken for removal of intestinal polyps if an indication exists, and should be administered as prescribed. Metronidazole is commonly available in tablets and injections for the treatment of intestinal and extra-intestinal amebiasis, vaginal trichomoniasis, guinea worm infection, pouch worm disease and cutaneous leishmaniasis. It is also widely used to treat anaerobic infections. Metronidazole has no role in the treatment of intestinal polyps, if intestinal polyp removal combined with the above mentioned infections, metronidazole can be used for anti-infective treatment. Metronidazole adverse effects can be seen as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps. It is contraindicated in people with active central nervous system diseases and blood diseases. The use of metronidazole to treat diseases, need to be under the guidance of a doctor reasonable use of medication.
