Most lung nodules are benign lesions that do not turn into lung cancer, but a small percentage of lung nodules are malignant and can develop into lung cancer.
Whether a lung nodule can turn into lung cancer is related to the nature of the lung nodule. Most of the lung nodules are caused by pneumonia, tuberculosis and other diseases. After further examination to confirm the diagnosis, anti-infection and anti-tuberculosis treatments should be carried out under the guidance of doctors. The prognosis of these diseases is generally good, and the nodules can disappear or gradually shrink after treatment, and will not turn into lung cancer.
However, some of the lung nodules are malignant in nature, and even if the size of the nodules is small, they may develop into lung cancer if they are not treated in time.
After the discovery of lung nodules, the benign or malignant nature of the nodules should be initially judged according to the size and shape of the nodules, whether there are burrs or lobes, etc., and puncture biopsy should be carried out to confirm the nature of the nodules if necessary. After the nature of the lung nodule is clarified, active treatment should be carried out to prevent the disease from worsening due to delayed treatment.
