Eczema can be attributed to the category of wet sores in Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine treatment of this disease needs to be analyzed through the identification of evidence, often using gentian diarrhea liver soup, remove dampness stomach ling soup, angelica drink and other formulas with subtractions for treatment. According to Chinese medicine, wet sores are caused by the disharmony between the spleen and stomach, the internal growth of dampness and heat, and the impregnation of the skin by external wind, dampness and heat, and according to the different types of evidence, the following prescriptions are used for treatment. 1. Dampness and heat impregnating the skin: the onset of the disease is rapid, and the patient’s skin itches intensely and burns, accompanied by symptoms such as thirst and heartburn, dry stools, and yellowish and greasy tongue coating. The prescription of gentian diarrhea liver soup plus reduction is mainly to clear heat, dampness, itching. 2. Spleen deficiency and dampness syndrome: slow onset, weak spleen and stomach, dampness congestion (accumulation of more dampness), impregnation of the skin, itching of the skin, liquid oozing out after scratching, scales on the skin, accompanied by poor appetite, abdominal distension and loose stools (stools are thin and unshaped), and fatigue. Use Dampness Removing Stomach Ling Tang to strengthen the spleen, remove dampness and stop itching. 3. Blood deficiency, wind and dryness evidence: long illness, blood deficiency, wind and dryness, skin loss of nutrients, can be seen on the skin where eczema hyperpigmentation, skin roughness and thickening, itching exacerbated by heat, tongue coating pale white and other symptoms. It is common to use Angelica Drink or Four Substances Wind Elimination Drink with additions and subtractions to dispel wind and stop itching (stopping itching by removing the wind that invades the muscle surface), nourishing the blood and moistening the dryness.
