Patients with nephrotic syndrome generally have to apply hormone therapy in the absence of contraindications to hormones. Large doses and long courses of hormone application can bring many side effects, especially femoral head necrosis, leading to patient disability. Therefore, in patients who must apply hormones, attention must be paid to calcium supplementation, especially the simultaneous administration of activated vitamin D3 preparations, together with the application of Chinese herbal medicines for kidney activation, which will significantly reduce or even avoid the occurrence of femoral head necrosis. The author’s clinical experience over the years has verified the above phenomenon, and no femoral head necrosis has ever occurred due to the application of hormones in the patients treated, as long as they are well adhered to.
