How many months will the baby recognize people

In general, babies will start to recognize people around 3-5 months old, mainly related to growth and development, and there are individual differences in the specific time. After 3 months of age, the baby’s retina starts to develop initially, and the image mechanism will gradually develop, starting to have a vague cognition of people they are in frequent contact with, and can appear to gaze and smile and other performance. As growth and development proceeds, the baby’s cognition of faces gradually becomes clear, and generally begins to enter the formal recognition stage around 7-8 months of age, that is, it can distinguish between familiar and unfamiliar people, often showing acceptance and liking of familiar people, and may refuse hugs from strangers. During the period of recognizing people, you can strengthen the interaction between each other and give more time to accompany your baby. But at the same time, attention needs to be paid to appropriate short periods of absence to reduce the baby’s over-dependence on a particular person and to avoid anxiety during separation.
