Research has found that milk, eggs, fish, lean meat, animal liver and other high-quality protein food, the brain function has a strengthening effect; a large number of vegetables, fruits and soy products, can supplement vitamin B, C, E, to prevent nutritional deficiencies caused by intellectual disability. Because smoking can make the small arteries in the body shrink and narrow, resulting in cerebrovascular ischemia, so the elderly should not smoke and drink less alcohol.  Third, actively participate in social activities to achieve the “old man’s heart is not old”, maintain a healthy and positive state of mind, can largely reduce loneliness, depression and other bad mood breeding. At the same time, maintain a close relationship with family members, actively participate in social activities, family affairs, national affairs, the world affairs, everything is concerned.  Appropriate participation in some outdoor activities, such as walking, doing exercises and dancing, etc., and extensive contact with people from all walks of life are also beneficial for maintaining brain function, talking with friends, playing mahjong and chess, etc., can stimulate nerve cell vitality. Collective recreational activities can also enable patients to get rid of the lonely and helpless, pessimistic and sad state of mind.  Reading newspapers, watching TV, listening to the radio, going to a nearby familiar street to buy goods according to a list, taking care of one’s own life and doing some simple household chores are all beneficial to the maintenance of brain function.
