The relationship between coffee and gout

Coffee and gout generally have little to do with each other; the cause of gout is currently unknown, but it is associated with high blood uric acid levels. Coffee is a common drink, the main component is caffeine, generally does not cause gout. Gout is a common disease, the etiology is still unclear, mainly related to the body purine metabolism disorder and (or) uric acid excretion disorder. Long-term hyperuricemia, urate deposition in the joints and surrounding tissues may lead to gouty attacks. Regular consumption of foods high in purines, such as animal offal, broth, shellfish, tuna, and sardines can produce uric acid after decomposition, resulting in excess uric acid and causing gout. Gout can also be induced by regular consumption of alcohol, medications taken (thiazide diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide) and so on. Gout should be treated in a timely manner in a hospital to avoid delays. Daily attention should be paid to regular checkups, maintaining a healthy weight, regular exercise, rest and relaxation, etc.
