What should I do if my two-month-old baby has diarrhea?

Two-month-old babies are just born, the baby’s digestive system is not yet mature, neuromodulation, endocrine development is not mature, more prone to digestive tract dysfunction. Intestinal flora imbalance or improper artificial feeding can cause diarrhea in babies. If a two-month-old baby has no other symptoms such as lethargy, good appetite, and does not affect the baby’s growth and development, this type of diarrhea is mostly physiological and may be related to lactose intolerance, so you can eat some lactose-free milk powder or supplement lactase to see the effect, and the stool can slowly turn normal after adding complementary foods. If your baby has increased diarrhea, high fever, refusal to eat milk, poor spirit, thirst, dry lips, low urine, etc., you need to promptly replenish water and electrolytes, and promptly consult a doctor for routine stool tests, adjust your baby’s diet, prevent dehydration, and administer rehydration therapy to maintain water-electrolyte balance. If there is an infection, you need to use antibiotics and anti-infection treatment, you can use some intestinal mucosal protective agents, avoid using loperamide and other antidiarrheal agents, and you can supplement zinc in the right amount. Parents should pay attention to reasonable feeding. Develop good hygiene habits and pay attention to regular sterilization of milk and food utensils and toys.
