Why sports injuries should be treated in time?

Just in time for summer vacation, it is common to see parents in outpatient clinics and emergency rooms with their children for old sports injuries, some left over from the previous semester, and some even from earlier. Their common reason is that their children are usually busy with schoolwork and don’t have time to see a doctor to delay their studies. And most of them think that sports injuries only need to spray “fast”, rest a few days, and so the swelling goes down, no more pain, even if it is well. This is a misunderstanding, precisely this understanding, so that the original can be cured of sports injuries lost the opportunity to heal, and even leave “old injuries”, future recurring, troubled work and life. We all know that the average athletic life expectancy of Chinese athletes is much lower than that of developed countries in Europe and the United States. It is because many times we advocate only the spirit of insisting on the game with injuries, but ignore the protection of the athletes themselves; athletes only have a strong body, in order to achieve better sports results, in order to have a longer sports life, reflecting the value of their own sports. This is actually a consequence of this misconception. When we watch sports, often see some athletes injured, the team doctor with a “good fast” spray two, the players continue to adhere to the game; while some must immediately give up the game, to receive further treatment. In life, some sports injuries can be self-healing through simple treatment. These types of injuries are mostly impact injuries, strains or overexertional injuries to certain muscles. They usually occur in the extremities or lower back, those areas away from the joints. After rest, cold compresses followed by hot compresses, massage, acupuncture and other treatments, most can heal on their own. Athletes in the game a similar injury, usually can also take the spray “good fast”, play closed and other methods of emergency treatment to continue to play. The other type of sports injuries that occur around the joints, with ligament and joint capsule injuries, as well as cartilage or bone injuries in the joints, should be treated properly in order to heal. For example, we all have this experience, accidentally broke a foot, the same part, later will appear habitually broken foot; knee sprain, if not pay attention to the correct treatment, in the subsequent movement will feel weak when doing certain movements knee, and prone to re-torsion; and such as playing basketball poke finger, commonly known as “eat carrot sticks”. Often, the same finger is repeatedly injured. Usually such injuries involving the ligaments and cartilage around the joint, if not properly treated to achieve healing, will leave “old injuries”, affecting future sports and life. Therefore, if you encounter a sports injury in ordinary life, you should first stop playing sports immediately, and then go to the hospital immediately after simple icing and braking treatment by a specialist, and under his guidance for proper treatment and rehabilitation.
