Can you swim with synovitis?

Swimming is not recommended during the acute phase of synovitis. Synovitis from all causes increases in synovial fluid during the acute phase due to synovial congestion and edema. One of the key recommendations for treatment is to limit joint activity, because too much joint activity will accelerate the swelling of the synovial membrane, making the synovial fluid secretion worse, and the condition of synovitis will not only be uncontrolled, but will also worsen. During swimming, the joints need to move more strongly, whether it is the shoulder, elbow, hip, ankle, or other joints, may be subjected to stronger stimulation during swimming, and too cold water can also stimulate the joints, resulting in the aggravation of the condition of synovitis. Swimming is therefore not recommended for synovitis patients in the acute stage, but can be used in remission.
