How often is 4mm ground glass reviewed

A 4-mm ground glass refers to a four-millimeter diameter lung ground glass-like nodule, which can be categorized as a mixed ground glass nodule or a pure ground glass nodule, both of which need to be reviewed in a timely manner.
Generally speaking, the malignancy of mixed ground-glass nodules may be higher than that of pure ground-glass nodules, therefore, the frequency of follow-up review of mixed ground-glass nodules is higher than that of pure ground-glass nodules.
1. Mixed MG nodules: 4mm mixed MG nodules need to be reviewed by chest CT at 3, 6, 12 and 24 months, and if there is no change, it can be changed to routine annual examination.
2. Pure ground-glass nodules: 4mm pure ground-glass nodules can be followed up at 6 months and then annually.
The discovery of ground-glass nodules in the lungs can be referred to the Department of Respiratory Medicine or the Department of Thoracic Surgery for clarification of the nature of the nodules and determination of further management measures.
