Most colds do not cause hemorrhoids. Colds are most often caused by inflammatory reactions in the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract caused by viral infections, and are self-limiting diseases that heal on their own in about a week. Hemorrhoids are caused by various causes of varicose veins in the anorectum, which can be accompanied by dry stools, slow bowel movements and even anal fissures that can aggravate the condition. In general, hemorrhoids do not occur in patients with colds; however, there are some special cases, such as a cold with a persistent high fever, a lack of water in the body, and not a lot of fluid, when the intestines also lack water and are dry, it is easy to aggravate the symptoms of hemorrhoids.
