How to read a gastroscopy report as cancer

The results of gastroscopy reports vary from person to person and cannot be generalized. The first one is a description of the general shape of the overall state of the stomach as observed by the naked eye, at which time you can see whether there are lesions in the mucosa of the stomach and the size and shape of the swelling, so that you can have a general judgment. Then the second sheet is the result of the pathological examination of the tissue taken under gastroscopy. Generally, gastric cancer often appears as follows when observed by gastroscopy: 1. mass type: the mass is often a cancerous part that protrudes into the stomach lumen. 2.Ulcer type: The boundary of ulcer surface is clearer at this time, and the slightly elevated ulcer surface is the site of cancer. 3.Ulcer infiltrating type: The boundary between the ulcer and the surrounding area is not clear, which is usually the result of the expansion of the cancerous foci to the surrounding area. 4.Diffuse infiltrative type: At this time, the cancer foci will grow along all layers of the gastric wall with general infiltration, resulting in rough mucosa and stiffening of the gastric wall, and even causing narrowing of the gastric cavity. Gastroscopy report result writing is mainly diagnosed as gastric ulcer or neoplastic (nature to be determined; pending pathology), if this kind of gastroscopy report appears, the main clinical consideration is more likely to be gastric cancer, but it cannot confirm the diagnosis, the specific needs to be determined by multiple tissue biopsy and pathology examination under gastroscopy, but due to the limitation of sampling, there may be false negative results, which can be further improved by abdominal CT, pigmented endoscopy or ultrasound endoscopy to further improve the diagnosis. If the lesion pattern is typical, the doctor will also give the diagnosis of gastric cancer directly.
