Types of high myopia fundus lesions

Retinal fissure: It is caused by vitreous traction on retinal degeneration area or retina itself, patients mostly have no conscious symptoms and can be detected by detailed fundus examination or fundus photography, treatment is mainly laser treatment to prevent retinal detachment, while macular fissure requires surgery. Retinal detachment: Due to high myopic retinal atrophy or vitreous pulling, retinal fissures are formed, and the liquefied vitreous enters the subretina through the fissures to form retinal detachment. Patients mostly have floating objects in front of the eyes, flashing sensation or black shadow blocking, etc. After detachment, it often leads to vision loss, and eventually leads to eye atrophy if not treated in time. Macular hemorrhage: Because of the growth of the eye axis, the choroidal capillaries under the retina will rupture and bleed, and the hemorrhage will enter between the retina and the choroid, then the patient’s visual acuity will decrease significantly, and the condition will be repeated, which may seriously affect the visual acuity and even blindness.
