Self-massage and how to rehabilitate facial palsy patients

  I. Massage 1.Push and pull from the arch of the eyebrow to the hairline at the top of the head, or rub slowly.  2.Pull the upper eyelid down from above the bulging eye to close it. Have the patient close the eyes before using the fingertips to massage along the upper and lower eyelids or the depression between the infraorbital rims. Gently pushing and pulling from the inside out and then from the outside in on the upper and lower eyelids will help restore upper eyelid function.  3. In severe lesioned facial palsy, lower eyelid uplift disorders may occur. Individual patients present with mild lower eyelid ectropion, mainly due to the relaxation of the lower eyelid after facial palsy. The patient is instructed to close the eyes and use the belly of the index finger to gently push and pull along the lower eyelid skin from inside to outside and then from outside to inside, respectively.  4. Massage from the affected corner of the mouth to the side of the nose and cheekbones, and then along the nasolabial fold or on the corner of the mouth to the cheekbones. Use the thumb or show finger and the middle finger to press the cheek or push and pull along the muscle direction to massage treatment.  5, upper lip muscles: use the index finger and the abdomen of the thumb to massage along the corners of the mouth toward the human middle groove, and then along the human middle groove toward the corners of the mouth.  6.Lower lip muscles: use the thumb to massage, push and pull gently from the lower corner of the mouth to the inner side and downward, which helps to restore the function of the lower lip muscles.  Expression muscle rehabilitation training After the movement of the affected facial expression muscles, effective expression muscle rehabilitation training can significantly improve the therapeutic effect. During the training, the following treatment methods should be selected according to the different symptoms of the patient, with 2~3 times daily training and 10~20 times for each movement. Specific training methods are as follows: 1. Eyebrow raising training: 10~20 times each time, about 5 times a day.  2. Eye Closure Training: Ask the patient to gently close the eyes at the beginning, and close both eyes at the same time 10~20 times, about 5 times a day. (Note: If the eyelids cannot be completely closed, the finger of the finger can be used to gently massage along the infraorbital rim when the eyelids are exposed, and then forcefully close the eyes 10 times to help restore the eyelid closure function).  3.Shrugging nasal training: 10~20 times each time, about 5 times a day.  4.Show teeth training: 10~20 times each time, about 5 times a day.  5.Mouth nuzzling training: 10~20 times each time, about 5 times a day.  6.Cheek training: 10~20 times each time, about 5 times a day.
