For children who do not want to take medication, long-acting medications are available. The only long-acting medication currently available orally is pentoxifylline. The long-acting drugs for injection are risperidone microspheres for injection (Hengde), paliperidone palmitate injection (Sunstar), haloperidol decanoate, fluphenazine decanoate, and perphenazine palmitate injection. In addition, strengthening disease knowledge education to improve children’s poor perception of the disease and medication taking, and making them aware of the need to take medication, can also help to improve medication adherence.
