A sore throat is not necessarily a novel coronavirus infection. If a patient presents with only a sore throat and has no history of exposure to an infected area, it is usually not novel coronavirus pneumonia, but more likely a respiratory infection. The main manifestations of novel coronavirus pneumonia are fever, malaise, and dry cough. A small number of patients have symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, and diarrhea. If the patient has a history of contact with the infected area and other physical symptoms, it is recommended to visit the hospital for routine blood tests, C-reactive protein, chest CT, and novel coronavirus nucleic acid tests to clarify the diagnosis.
