Aged scars require careful observation of the appearance of the scar to determine which treatment is the appropriate choice. If it is simply a flat scar with pigmentary changes, red ones can be treated with compounded heparin sodium ointment or irradiated with Q532 laser. For black pigmented scars, you can choose to use hydroquinone cream or azelaic acid cream, or you can choose Q1064 laser or picosecond laser, which can effectively remove the pigment cells and achieve the purpose of removing the black marks. For the keloidal changes raised on the skin, you can choose to use compound betamethasone injection mixed with lidocaine for local closed injection, which has a softening and fading effect on the overall scars. If the results are not good at the later stage, surgical excision can also be chosen, followed by isotope radiation therapy to avoid recurrent hyperplasia.
