Common causes of hand numbness include carpal tunnel syndrome, elbow tunnel syndrome, cervical spondylosis, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and respiratory alkalosis. 1. Carpal tunnel syndrome: Numbness and pain in the thumb, index finger and middle finger due to compression of the median nerve in the wrist. 2. Elbow canal syndrome: Numbness and pain in the ring finger and little finger due to compression of the ulnar nerve in the elbow. 3.
