How to reduce thigh edema

Thigh edema may be caused by cardiogenic, nephrogenic, cirrhosis, hypothyroidism, lower extremity deep vein thrombosis, etc. It needs to be treated by the cause of the disease, and at the same time, diuretics and albumin transfusion should be applied to treat it. 1. Cardiogenic edema, such as thigh edema caused by right heart failure or total heart failure, is caused by venous stasis in the body circulation due to decreased systolic and diastolic function of the heart, especially venous stasis in the lower limbs, which can be treated with diuretics, such as furosemide, torasemide, and so on. 2. Nephrogenic edema is firstly edema of eyelids and face, and then edema of the whole body, such as thigh edema caused by nephritis and nephrotic syndrome, albumin, furosemide or hydrochlorothiazide diuretics can be chosen to reduce the edema, and glucocorticosteroids can be used as well. 3. In cirrhosis, the synthetic capacity of the liver decreases, albumin production decreases, plasma colloid osmotic pressure decreases, and the fluid in the blood leaks into the tissue interstitial space caused by edema of the thighs, and the treatment is also to infuse albumin and diuretics to reduce the swelling. 4 Mucous edema caused by hypothyroidism requires levothyroxine sodium tablets for improvement. There are also lower extremity deep vein thrombosis can cause thigh edema, thrombus will cause blood return obstruction, resulting in edema, if the thrombus formation more than 72 hours, need medication such as subcutaneous intravenous injection of low molecular heparin, oral aspirin to promote the dissolution of thrombus, thus reducing the symptoms of edema. All of the above drugs need to be used under the guidance of a doctor.
