Foie gras palms are commonly referred to as liver palms in clinical practice. The difference between liver palm red and normal palm red lies in the skin manifestation and related examination. 1. Skin manifestation: Liver palm redness is usually the redness of the thumb and the root of the little finger at the intersection of the big and small fishes, which fades after pressure is applied, and then becomes red again after pressure is lifted, and the color of the palm is normal. The normal palm red is usually the whole palm red. 2. Related examination: Liver palm is one of the important indicators of chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis, which can be determined by ultrasonography or laboratory examination of liver function to determine whether the liver is diseased or not, such as the discovery of enlarged liver, elevated aminotransferases or changes in bilirubin content, which will be considered as liver palm. Liver-related tests are normal in normal red palms. In chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis, the inactivation of estrogen by damaged liver cells is reduced, making estrogen in the body higher than normal, which leads to dilatation of small blood vessels and the appearance of liver palms. Once liver palms are detected, medical treatment should be sought promptly.
