What are the symptoms of Hairy Cell Mucinous Astrocytoma?

Symptoms of hairy cell mucinous astrocytoma are manifested by increased intracranial pressure such as headache, nausea, and symptoms of neurologic deficits.
1. Symptoms of increased intracranial pressure
(1) Headache: aggravated by coughing, waking up in the morning, or having a bowel movement, and relieved by vomiting.
(2) Vomiting: mostly in the early morning, in the form of jet.
(3) Optic nerve papilla edema: loss of vision, centripetal narrowing of the visual field, and blindness. Brain herniation can also occur in case of intratumor hemorrhage.
2. Neurological deficits
(1) Stimulating symptom: epilepsy, mostly manifested by cerebral hemisphere tumors.
(2) Destructive symptoms: mental disorders, personality changes, when the tumor invades the frontal lobe or spreads to the opposite side.
