A groove in the middle of the tongue is known as cracked tongue in Chinese medicine, which is usually related to heat, deficiency of qi and yin (deficiency of both qi and yin), deficiency of the spleen and dampness, and accumulation of food (indigestion of food and accumulation of food in the stomach), and so on. 1.
