A positive hepatitis B surface antibody indicates that the body is well immune to the hepatitis B virus and will not re-infect the hepatitis B virus. A positive core antibody to hepatitis B indicates that the body has been infected with the hepatitis B virus and that the core antibody will persist in the body for many years as long as the body has been infected with the hepatitis B virus. Therefore, a positive test for these two indicators indicates that the body has been infected with the hepatitis B virus, but it has been cleared by the body and the body is currently free of the hepatitis B virus and has a good immunity to the hepatitis B virus. These two positive antibodies are common in normal adults, and there are many such people in China. In fact, many normal adults who are infected with the hepatitis B virus show this expression, this process, and many adults do not actually become chronic hepatitis B virus carriers easily.
