It is used for treating jaundice due to dampness-heat, swollen and itchy nether regions, subluxation of the vagina, itchy eczema, headache due to liver-fire, deafness due to redness of the eyes and ears, dystocia and bitterness of the mouth (pain in the area of the dystocia and ribs, and bitter in the mouth). It should not be used by those with deficiency of cold in the spleen and stomach, and should be used with caution by those with deficiency of yin and injury of fluid.
