When to Review Lung Cancer

In general, the first review of lung cancer should be within one month after the end of treatment, and every three months thereafter. If there are no special circumstances, it will be changed to every half a year after two years and every year after five years. If the time of review is in accordance with doctor’s prescription during lung cancer treatment, and if the patient is in discomfort or has changes in condition, the review should be conducted at any time. Generally speaking, after a lung cancer patient is discharged from the hospital after receiving regular treatment, the first recheck is one month after discharge; if there is no abnormality, the recheck can be changed to every three months; if the condition has been stable, the recheck can be changed to every six months within two to five years after the treatment; and after five years, it can be changed to once a year. However, for patients under lung cancer treatment, please follow the doctor’s instruction for the time of rechecking. If patients have any uncomfortable symptoms or changes in their conditions, they need to be rechecked at any time. Lung cancer patients should go to the hospital in time, carry out standardized treatment under the guidance of doctors and follow the doctor’s instructions for regular review. They should prohibit smoking and drinking in their life, maintain good work and rest, and exercise appropriately.
