In the clinic, it takes two weeks to recover after nephrectomy, during this period, patients should do the following points in order to recover smoothly: a. On the day after nephrectomy, if the patient’s anesthesia is not completely awake, the patient should be allowed to go to the pillow and lie flat for six hours, with the head tilted to the side, and oxygen inhalation should be given to the patient, so that the occurrence of malaise can be prevented; wait until the patient’s anesthesia is completely awake, and vital signs are stable, and then the patient can be changed to semi-lying position, so that the patient is more comfortable. Only when the patient is completely awake from anesthesia and his vital signs are stable can he be changed to a semi-recumbent position, which is more comfortable for the patient. It should be noted that if the patient has a drain placed, it is necessary to observe the changes of the drainage fluid, especially the color and the amount of drainage fluid changes. Second, the first day after nephrectomy, we should encourage patients to get out of bed early, which is conducive to the recovery of the patient’s body functions, but also can prevent the formation of deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs, as well as the occurrence of pneumonia. In addition, we should strengthen the nutritional support for the patients, give the patients pain management, and the patients’ incision should be changed regularly, so that the patients can recover more smoothly.
