Headache caused by glioma is mainly due to: 1) headache caused by occupancy and cerebral edema which leads to elevated cranial pressure and stimulation of dura mater; 2) headache caused by traction or displacement of intracranial vessels due to occupancy or edema; 3) headache caused by postoperative intracranial infection, bleeding and exudation which stimulates the meninges. To relieve the headache caused by glioma, it depends on what the cause is. If the headache is caused by cranial hypertension due to tumor occupancy and edema, the tumor should be removed as much as possible, and the headache can be relieved after removal. If the tumor cannot be removed, or if the headache is caused by cerebral edema, the headache should be relieved by medication, such as mannitol, glycerol fructose, tachypnea and hormone. If the postoperative headache is caused by infection, bleeding, exudation, etc., then we need to control the bleeding and infection with drugs, and we can also use lumbar puncture or lumbar pool to drain out the blood or inflammatory cerebrospinal fluid from the skull. If the postoperative recovery headache is not obvious, or if there is no clear cause, you can take some pain medication under the guidance of the doctor, and most of them will be relieved gradually.
