How long does it usually take to recover from glomerulonephritis?

There is no uniform standard and conclusion on how long it takes for glomerulonephritis to be cured because glomerulonephritis involves a lot of diseases, and different types of nephritis are not treated in the same way, and the time for the condition to be cured is also different. Acute glomerulonephritis can be cured in 2~8 weeks; acute nephritis is hard to be cured, and even death occurs in a short period of time; chronic glomerulonephritis can not be cured either.
Glomerulonephritis is divided into acute glomerulonephritis, acute progressive glomerulonephritis, and chronic glomerulonephritis.
Generally, acute glomerulonephritis is a self-limiting disease, after active treatment, most patients have a good prognosis, and the disease may be cured within 2~8 weeks.
Acute glomerulonephritis develops more rapidly, and the prognosis is poor, generally cannot be cured, timely and clear diagnosis and early intensive treatment can improve the prognosis, if the patient does not have timely treatment, renal failure occurs in a short period of time, and even lead to death.
Chronic glomerulonephritis develops slowly and cannot be cured. Most of the patients can delay the development of the disease after active treatment, but some of the patients will develop chronic renal failure with poor prognosis, which seriously affects the quality of life and shortens the survival time.
Patients with glomerulonephritis should consult a regular hospital in a timely manner and receive symptomatic treatment under the guidance of a physician to avoid delays.
