Chinese medicine believes that in the summer, the sweat holes are wide open and the Yang Qi is leaking out, just like the plants and animals in nature, it is the season of growth and dispersion. Compared to the heat on the surface of the body, the internal body is in a state of relative lack of yang energy. Consider why the basement is very cool in summer? This is because while the earth is hot on the surface, it is also deficient in yang energy “inside”.  Yang Qi is the basis for the body to maintain the continuation of life and the normal function of the internal organs, and all the dynamic functions of the body need the promotion and maintenance of Yang Qi. Yang Qi is insufficient, the function of the internal organs will be reduced accordingly. The summer heat and humidity is serious, not only the body’s Yang Qi is not enough to promote weakness, but also the attack of dampness. Wet is sticky glue, easy to hurt Yang, the first will bother the spleen and stomach transport function, so the appetite of the sang day will decline, especially the usual digestive function is not good, it is easy to appear bloated and full, and even the heart of the hands and feet hot. Dampness is heavy and turbid and loves to hurt the lower part of the body. The accumulation of damp heat will lead to inflammation of the lower body (such as gynecological pelvic inflammatory disease, vaginitis), dermatitis, foot odor, ulcers and so on. On such sangha days, heart disease patients are also the most uncomfortable, because the heart is the organ that needs the most power, Yang Qi deficiency will inevitably cause the heart power deficiency and appear chest tightness and breathlessness, irritability. It is clear that if we want to maintain a healthy body condition in such weather, we need to know how to avoid damage to Yang Qi.  Cold is the first culprit, whether it is an air-conditioned room or a cold drink, the coldness that intersects inside and outside may damage the already insufficient yang energy in the body. The second is dampness, not the weather, but diet, a lot of eating seafood, beef and mutton, fatty foods can cause the accumulation of dampness in the body, so that external and internal wetness glue, dizziness and weakness, waist and legs heavy, and even vomiting evil diarrhea. Chinese medicine says “spring and summer Yang, autumn and winter Yin” is the reason. You should sleep at night and get up early, and adjust your work and rest according to the rising and falling of the sun. You should eat slightly light, soft and digestible food, and eat more food that has the effect of dispelling dampness and strengthening the spleen, such as winter melon, loofah, barley, lotus seeds, lentils and so on.  Smooth urination and defecation is the best sign of Yang energy function, so if there is poor urination or sticky stools, it is a case of Yang energy damage and dampness and turbidity. In addition, the tongue is also important. Look at it every morning before you brush your teeth. If there is obvious white or yellowish moss, or if there is phlegm in the throat in the morning, it is a sign of dampness and turbidity in the stomach, and you need to pay extra attention to your recent diet.
