The first peak age of HPV infection in women is around 20 years old and the second peak age is around 40 years old. When it comes to the relationship between HPV and cervical cancer, German scientist Chur Hausen comes to mind, who after nearly 10 years of scientific research confirmed the relationship between cervical cancer and HPV. HPV is a DNA virus with many different types, which are classified into high-risk and low-risk types according to the harmfulness of their development. Most women will have HPV infection at some point in their lives, but only a very small percentage of women will have HPV persist and integrate with cervical epithelial cells to develop the disease.
