What to look for during a child’s speech therapy session

Speech therapy is a grueling and gradual process. Parents must be patient with their young children during the treatment process, and let them imitate and learn the correct pronunciation in a coaxing way. Any small progress is hard to come by, and the child should be praised for his or her enthusiasm, cooperation and progress. When training the child’s pronunciation, it is best for parents to accompany the child on a regular basis to observe and participate in the child’s voice training process, to learn the basic voice training methods, and to counsel the child’s voice training at home every day. According to clinical observation, the voice rehabilitation and development of children with parents accompanying them is significantly better than that of children without parents accompanying them. Parental supervision of the child’s daily speech training at home plays a very important role in the child’s speech development. It may take tens or hundreds of training sessions to achieve a normal pronunciation. However, as long as there is a first one, there will be a second one. With persistence and perseverance, the child’s pronunciation will surely improve.
