Effective Snoring Treatment

Effective treatment of snoring is based on the cause of the disease. Such as adenoid hypertrophy, nasal polyps, sinusitis, obesity, sleep apnea syndrome, etc. According to the different causes, surgical treatment, general treatment, and respiratory treatment can be taken.
1. Surgical treatment: If there is soft palate or adenoid hypertrophy, nasal polyps, sinusitis, chronic hypertrophic rhinitis, tonsil or turbinate hypertrophy, upper airway stenosis due to epiglottis lesion and other upper airway local ventilation restriction, consider nasopharyngeal surgery/radiofrequency ablation to correct the treatment and alleviate the snoring symptoms.
2. General treatment: obesity, metabolic syndrome, etc., should consume less and exercise more, and try to reduce the weight to the normal level of body mass index (BMI), about 20~25. Change sleeping habits, such as try to lie on the side, avoid staying up too late, avoid too high a pillow. All of them can be relatively effective in reducing snoring.
3. Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Ventilation (CPAP): For sleep apnea and obstructive apnea syndrome, you can consider wearing a small ventilator during sleep to ensure continuous positive pressure ventilation, increase the ventilation volume, improve the symptoms of snoring and hypoxia.
Snoring patients should seek medical treatment in time, clarify the cause of the disease, and follow the doctor’s instructions to choose the appropriate treatment.
