Grade II invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast, which is only a description of the degree of differentiation of breast tumor cells, is not an indicator alone that determines whether chemotherapy is needed.
Whether a patient with breast cancer needs chemotherapy depends on the clinical stage of the disease at the time of diagnosis and the immunohistochemical results. If a very early stage of breast cancer is followed by radical surgical excision, chemotherapy may not be needed if there is no high risk of recurrence or metastasis. However, most breast cancer patients require postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy after surgical resection. In advanced breast cancer patients who have developed metastases to other organs, chemotherapy is definitely needed in this case.
