Asthma patients generally have allergies, medically called “atopic”, in the nose is allergic rhinitis, in the eyes is allergic conjunctivitis, in the throat is allergic pharyngitis, in the large airways is now called cough variant asthma, in the small airways is allergic asthma. The prevailing treatment method is to control asthma with inhaled hormones according to the “diagnosis and treatment protocol” issued by the International Health Organization. Inhaled hormones are much safer than oral hormones, but there are still some unavoidable problems with long-term use, such as local immunosuppression of the respiratory tract, which can be compensated by the intervention of herbal medicine. Asthma can be controlled through self-management, such as the three volts of summer and winter, the three nine patches, the inhalation of hormones during the attack period, and the usual life conditioning and proper exercise (see “Asthma Precautions” in my article section), which can slow down year by year and lead to the purpose of stopping the medication. However, it is important to note that this disease is not cured, because the constitution cannot be changed, even if it does not recur for life, it is “cured” for the patient, but for the doctor it is not cured but controlled. If you change your habits, you will be able to manage the disease very well. If the disease has been complicated for a long time, you can take herbal medicine to regulate it first.
