Azithromycin dry mix is used for the treatment of the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria: lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia; skin and soft tissue infections; acute otitis media; upper respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, pharyngitis and tonsillitis. Azithromycin dry mix suspension for children: for the treatment of otitis media and pneumonia, on day 1, 10mg/kg by body weight in a single dose (maximum daily dose not exceeding 5 sachets), on days 2-5, 5mg/kg by body weight in a single dose (maximum daily dose not exceeding 2.5 sachets). For the treatment of pediatric pharyngitis and tonsillitis, the daily dose is calculated as 12mg/kg of body weight (the maximum daily dose does not exceed 5 bags) for 5 days. For the treatment of acute otitis media, a single dose of 30mg/Kg can be administered in a single dose. It should be noted that the maximum recommended total dose of azithromycin for the treatment of any infection in children should not exceed 1500 mg. Gastrointestinal reactions such as abdominal pain, diarrhea (loose stools), upper abdominal discomfort (pain or cramps), nausea, vomiting, etc. may occur after administration of the drug. Occasionally, mild to moderate abdominal distention, dizziness, headache and allergic reactions such as fever, rash and arthralgia may occur. Azithromycin should not be taken by patients who are allergic to azithromycin, erythromycin, other macrolides or ketolactones. Eating can affect the absorption of azithromycin, so azithromycin needs to be taken orally 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.
